Rick Wade is a wealthy young man having been left fortunes from both his grandfathers. He has finished college and then to university for his law degree. He has passed the bar but does not wish to practice law nor to return home to the family business. He decides to open an investigative agency instead, much to the chagrin of his father. The stories are set in the late 1950’s and the sixth book ends in 1964. The location is a large city in the northeast identified only as ‘City’. I did this for a reason. Everybody has a favorite city that is home to them, or they have visited and have wonderful memories, so they can visualize whatever city they choose it to be.

He begins with one associate, Nita who serves as secretary and all-around aid. He builds an organization and each of the key players are in each book. Each book is titled Rick Wade:Investigations, and each have sub-titles.
